Editorial layout & design of Breaks Magazine Issue 001
“Launched online four years ago, Breaks Magazine focuses on skate, fashion and music. The past 12 months has seen a step up in focus and desire, resulting in the release of Issue 1 which is the team's first print output. There is something raw and engaging about this publication.”
I was approached to design and layout the inaugural edition of Breaks Agency's first released publication. I worked closely with the team spending multiple weeks collating and working together in their office to come up with one of my proudest creative design projects to date.
My work included layout, typography, editorial design and graphic design for the magazine. I also lead the creative and design on the launch event and merchandise surrounding the inaugural issue.
The issue went on to be sold out in a matter of a couple weeks, following an incredible launch party at Exposure Gallery in Mayfair, London.
It was sold on all major UK streetwear and skateboard stores such as: Size?, Attitude Inc., Slam city Skates, Foot Patrol, Chimp Store, Urban Industry, Cartocon, Native Skate Store.
It was also featured on: Complex UK, The Drop Date, Black Sheep and others.
